So not sure how many of you have heard the new Faithless album 'The Dance'. Faithless were a band that really hit the spot when I was younger, their trance-house anthems were perfectly accompanied by Maxi Jazz's unique vocals.

When the new album landed on my desk a few months back I was pretty excited, really wanted to hear what the legends were up to now, specially as they were no longer signed to a major label and had some freedom.

What I found was a mixed album, some really great and forward thinking tracks followed by some more standard and obvious offerings. But we wont focus on the negatives and below is my favorite track off the album.....

Comin' Around, featuring vocals from Dougy from The Temper Trap, is the kind of tune that made me fall in love with Faithless all those year ago, flowing minimal basslines with atmospheric pads and vocals

We got asked to remix this single about 4 months ago but Warner Brothers ended up going with another mix. We had to hold off releasing these mixes for a while but now they are yours to play loud and enjoy!

So the word on the street is that the first ever dubstep album to go to number 1 is only around the corner...... Magnetic Man are smashing things right now and look like their decision to release a record with a major label is paying off.

We have all sat back recently and watched the meteoric rise of dubstep. 2 years ago we would be talking about dubstep and get a look of confusion from whoever we were talking to. Now things are different. Everyone wants in!

This is both a good thing and a bad thing for the genre. With popularity comes a larger choice, more dj's playing more nights in more cities. Those of us who like loud, dark rooms to watch our fave dj's in cant complain about that.

Leading the way in the production stakes has to be the 'Nicest Man in Dubstep', Benga.

A regular at SOMEnight I cant really say a bad word about the man. Check out a couple of his productions above and below.

I am proud to announce that Leeds veteran and co founder of progressive sound showcase Room 237 will be gracing the system at S.O.M.E this month.

P-45 comes in a time where allot of Djs are exploring the similarities between Techno and Dubstep. I feel His sound has yet to be explained and is most definitely unique, leaving itself floating above many possible genres.

His Dj sets vary and he has been known to bring some serious old school selection to the party........S.O.M.E goers can expect him not to pass up the chance to blaze dnb on the same system that helped champion the genre back when the club was known as the END.

So it seems we are always posting apologies for being slack on the posting front but we have a huge reason why we have been distracted recently.....

As we're all aware there was a horrendous natural disaster in Haiti last week, figures range wildly but its safe to say that a stupid amount of people died and countless others are homeless and in need of aid.

Sly Fly, Vagabondz, True Tiger and Ctl.Alt.Shift have all joined forces with SOMEnight to hold a massive fundraising drive for those affected by this terrible disaster.

We have worked our arses off over the last 2 days to pull together what we think is an amazing line up of some of the UK's best talents who have all amazingly agreed to appear at the night for free.

Please try your best to make it down and donate some money, if you could also spread the word in whatever way you can about this event as we really want to send a vast sum of money over to the worst affected areas of Haiti.
